Shimano Aldebaran 50 MGL HG

If you are a hardcore, non-stop all day Bass fanatic like us then the new Shimano Aldebaran 50 MGL HG is the machine for you! This is the lightest Shimano Baitcaster in the range, coming in at just over 134 grams you can now fish all day with limited fatigue…

Here are some features:

  • Ci4+ Body
  • Cross Carbon Drag
  • Hagane Body
  • MGL Spool
  • SVS Infinity
  • 9+1 S ARB Bearings
  • X-Ship
  • 7.4:1 Gear ratio
  • 4.8 oz

The Shimano Aldebaran 50 MGL is light as a feather, but still a beast with 10lb of drag and if you need even more just add a bit of thumb pressure…

When fishing for Bass you do not need a lot of line, what one needs is light weight and sensitivity. The folks at Shimano realized this with the 50 size of the Shimano Aldebaran and as such you can only fit 60 meters of 12 lb mono or fluorocarbon that will be more than enough for 90% of the bass specific applications, but if capacity is the big issue we can go with braid for almost a hundred meters of 20 pound.

Sporting a gear ratio of 7.4:1 you will always be touch with your lure and be able to pick up slack line from weightless techniques in no time for fast hook sets!

The X-Ship gear box and Hagane frame ensures rigidity and longevity with 10 ARB keeping this flagship reel smooth for many sessions to come.

This is a machine of reel, maybe the best light duty finesse Bass reel ever made by Shimano?
