Shimano Nasci FC reels have a host of features not normally seen in reels at this price point.

They have cold-forged Hagane Gears, offering greater durability and strength. This provides additional cranking power and smoothness, while Core Protect has been applied to the internals to increase longevity.

Here at Fishing Pro Shop in Pretoria, South Africa, we stock three models. A 1000, C3000 size, and a C5000.

We believe this to be the right mix as the 2500 and C3000 share a body, that is why you have the “C” prefix in front of the 3000 and the same with the 4000/C5000.

The C stands for compact…

We have tested the Nasci range and can confirm that they punch well above their weight…

The 1000 size is ideal for thin braid, even monos… Pair with the correct finesse rod and this little reel will have you covered for everything from art lure, bream, bass to light saltwater drop shot.

The C3000 is the “in-between” reel in the range that offers the most versatility. Spooled with 300yds of 15lb braid this reel will be perfect for everything from bass, estuary angling to light-medium saltwater drop-shot and shore jigging.

The C5000 is the big brother in this range. Here at FPS, we believe this is a great backup reel for any tiger fishing trip to the Zambezi or even light saltwater spinning.
